When its Mainak Bhowmik donning the director’s hat and Neel Dutt in complete charge of the sounds, the result has to be a fantastic musical and Mach Mishti n More is just about that. Just as the movie is about the complex, charming, cosmopolitan and lovable Kolkatans of today, the songs are also truly urban and in complete sync with the taste of today’s Bangalis.

The expression credits for the songs go to ace directors Rituparno Ghosh, Srijit Mukherjee along with Souvik Mishra nd Anshuman Chakraborty. When the songs have been penned down by such creative hands, the thoughts portrayed are sure to transcend the visual imagery of the movie and stay on in the thoughts of the listeners. Somelata , Rupankar and Neel Dutt himself along with Ishita nd Timir who are new to the industry have lent their voices in the movie and created an album of absolutely soothing melodies. The responsibility of designing sound for the movie has been well executed by Jojo and Potla.

The scores of the movie have an acoustic feel and are absolutely in sync with the plot and treatment of the entire movie. Songs from the movie were presented live at the function and “Ami Jodi Bhid Hoye Jai” which has been penned by Rituparno and sung by Ishita earned great appreciation from the audience present. Adding to the delight of the music lovers, the album has a theme music played by Amyt Dutta and all present at the function were treated with Amyt’s live performance.

The movie, as we gathered from the promos as well as by talking to theactors, is one meant for all age groups. Right from the dresses to the locales, everything is a perfect portrayal of the experimental Bangali. Just as Mojo Production’s Bong Connection, Shuknolonka, 033 and Bhooter Bhabishyat had appealed to the masses owed to their ‘different from the usual’ story line and treatment, Mach Mishti n More is also expected to treat the global Bangalis with the true flavor of today’s Bangaliana.
