At times it is intricate enough to say “NO” directly but can you just find out any other words for saying no to some delicate matters especially when it concerns your family and the loved ones? Partha Sarathi Joardar has come up with his newest venture “Anya Naa” with the aid of King’s Entertainment which shows the intricacies of a smart NO said to gain peace.
If you go by the story you will find that it won’t be an exaggeration if it is said to be a bold attempt. It is the time when the directors are concentrating on the matters of feminism and trying to uphold the womanly feeling and their psychological changes. This is the need of the hour for the general awareness of people that may also help in getting rid of what is happening all around.
Alok, the male lead of the story represents a simple young lad who spends a mediocre lifestyle with parents and a sister in their ancestral house of North Kolkata. Ananya, wife of Alok is the woman who accepts all the changes in her life for the sake of well being of her family and grumpy in laws. Alok, an aspiring film maker is presently doing ad films. Ananya suddenly comes across her old friend Shreya, who was once poor but is now enjoying a wealthy and healthy lifestyle. She offers a job to Ananya and as expected she receives a refusal from her (Ananya). On the contrary Ananya requests her to get a producer for her husband. Ashim Roy Chowdhury, the script writer did an excellent job with the twist over here. The social obligations and the financial crisis compel the woman to turn herself into a prostitute. With tremendous mental and societal strain she says “NO” to the normal and simple life and chooses a different life in the asylum, not because she is insane but to avoid the so called sane hypocrite moral beings.
The cast and crew of the movie is quite excited with the release of the new movie “Anya Naa”. Ratna Ghoshal plays the role of the typical contentious mother in law trying hard to mess around with the innocent daughter in law. Ananya, a national award winning actress has high hopes from this movie. Konnenica plays a negative role in the movie and is elated to work with Nigel.
Shamik Sinha, Indranil Sen have done a great job with the music of the movie and are hopeful that the music will surely catch the attention of the listeners and do well even outside the realm of the movie.
Overall, Anya Naa is an interesting attempt to present the wrongs of the society in a subtle and refined manner which unfortunately may not make a mark for itself due to the few glitches that the movie goers may not appreciate.
