Jalsaghar has an immediate connect with the people of Bengal and in its second year Mirchi Jalsaghar has established a connect with the city bringing on the same stage some of the most wanted musicians over a period of three days. This year Radio Mirchi Jalsaghar will be held from September 27 to 29 at Science City Auditorium featuring seven leading singers, three top notch bands and a percussionist par excellence making it the biggest music fest in city.
Kolkata will see Bollywood singer Papon and his band doing his “first” ever solo gig in the city. The fest will also set the stage on fire with Nachiketa, Fossils, Cactus, Lakkhichhara, Anupam Roy, Somlata, Silajit, Rupankar and others.
Radio Mirchi is also doing a band hunt contest for promoting upcoming music bands of Kolkata. The winner of this contest will get a chance to perform at this prestigious event. If that was not enough, it will also witness Fossils giving a grand preview of their upcoming album – Fossils 4 from the venue.
Cactus will also launch their new album “Blah Blah Blah” (after 5 years) at Mirchi Jalsaghar, while Bickram Ghosh will present a unique composition (along with mime dancers) for launching an audio book – Chander Pahar. Chander Pahar, is a famous novel by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, was made into an audio book which won the Indian Excellence In radio Awards 2013 for Best Bengali Radio Programme.
