Queen of Bengal is an initiative by Trisangam to motivate and inspire our Gen next women who are knowledgeable and multi-talented to come forth and showcase their talents. It has been a grand success in the last two years and Trisangam looks forward to conducting this event every year. The grand finale of this event took place at the Pavellion Hall. The judges of this event were Somnath Roy (eminent photographer who has woked in publications like ABP), Dr, Puja Chatterjee (Psychologist/social worker) and Kiran Tiwari.
The beauty contest started with the audition of applicants from all over the state and then after an elimination round, around fifteen participants were selected for a week long grooming session. Shilpita Biswas, Siddharth Paul, Arindam and Sourav Seal were the grooming faculties for the girls. The fifteen contestants from various fields displayed great confidence during their initial introduction sessions. They were further sorted down to ten contestants among whom the winners were decided by the judges. They even performed to the theme song of the event. Fashion dance troupe did two spirited dance performances. The Bengali models did a Ganesh Vandana at the beginning of the show and in between mesmerized the audience with their performance of “Bhare more Raina” (song from the film Ra One).
Bengali models Ambalika Ganguly was crowned the winner of the Queen of Bengal 2013 while the first runner up title went to Preyosi Karmakar and the second runner up was title was bagged by Priyanka Jaiswal.
Trisangam believes in enhancing the power of beauty and also in providing a platform to the contestants in the glamour world today. They plan to continue their work in future and pave the path for more such girls. This surely is a great learning platform for many girls who want to make it big in this industry.
