The story of Neel Lohit is about a romantic adventurous traveler who wanders about in an unknown village. He is called Neelu by the villagers. Neelu was actually a village boy who disappeared about three years ago. The villagers are convinced that this is the same boy who has come back after three long years. He tries to convince the people but they do not pay any heed to his words. He stays at the house of Neelmoni and he meets the lower middle class family of Neelmoni. Neel Lohit meets with Neelmoni’s elder brother and sister-in-law Durba. Ramtaran Lahiri, the rice mill owner had meanwhile taken hold of the mango orchard as they were unable to give back his money. Binti’s marriage with Neelmoni was fixed by Ramataran Lahiri after which he will return the mango orchard. Neel Lohit wants to run away from this situation but he falls in love with Binti. Neel Lohit finds out that Biru, a local weaver boy is also in love with Binti. What happens next is what the audience will have to go to the theatres to find out.
Bishnu Palchaudhuri, the director of this film who has also directed the first ever mega serial Janani said “Neel Lohit is a beautiful poetic drama. It includes heartfelt sentiments, emotions, and romanticism encapsulating nature to the fullest form. This will be an enriching and entertaining experience for the viewers.
