A new tradition has started in the Tollywood film industry. The film makers are now trying out newer and better ways of reaching out to the audience even before the film releases on the big screen. One such way is the launching of the trailer and the first poster of the film. Earlier, trailer launches were not given so much importance. But of late many directors have been paying attention to this aspect and they have been launching the trailers separately. After Hanuman.com, upcoming Bengali Movie Taan also had its trailer launch and first poster unveiling party at Calcutta Rowing Club recently.
The film is a women centric film and is based on a story named Jalbeshya written by eminent Bangaleshi author Al Mahmud. The story shows the lives of the women in the remote areas of the Sunderbans. They are abducted and are brought by the traffickers to the borderlands of India, Bangladesh and Burma. It is in these places that they are groomed to become prostitutes. An ad film maker and his nature photographer friend unearth their identities and what happens next is what the film is all about.
The film has Rituparna Sengupta, Debolina Dutta, Kaushik Sen, Sumanta Chatterjee, Pamela Bhutoria, Rajesh Sharma, Debdut Ghosh, Nandini Chatterjee and Chandan Sen in important roles. Mukul Roy Choudhury is the director of the film while the screenplay has been written by Shibasish Bandopadhyay. Indraadip Dasgupta has done the music Bengali Movie. The choreography in this film has been done by Stanley D’ Costa.
“I am happy that the film is finally releasing. We had done the shooting nearly two years back” said the director. In a printed mini skirt and full sleeved black top, Rituparna Sengupta, the evergreen fashion icon of Bangla Movies increased the glamour quotient at the press meet to a few degrees. The actress said “It is always exciting when such a film which got stuck due to some reasons finally gets to breathe free. This is indeed a good story and I am confident that the audience will love the film”.
This New Movie releases on February 7.
