Before the New Bengali Movie Jatishwar releases this Friday, a last minute press conference was held at the Park Hotel to let the media have a last minute chat with the cast and crew of this Bengali film. Abir Chatterjee, Srijit Mukherjee, Kabir Suman, Sidhartha Ray (Sidhu Da), Indraadip Dasgupta, Rahul, Prasenjit Chatterjee, Sourav Samaddar and Jishu Sengupta were present at this last minute press conference just before the release of this much awaited film.
“I was much inspired by the song of Kabir Suman named Jatishwar. This gave me the idea to make a film on this name. The film is not only about Anthony but is also a celebration of music. This is the best picture that I have made till date. This film is very special and is extremely close to my heart. This film is special because the person whose song inspired me to make this film has also composed four songs in the film” said the director, Srijit Mukherji.
Kabir Suman praised Srijit and also thanked him. “This feels great to see a Bengali Movie made on my songs during my lifetime. Srijit has researched really hard and even I had to do a lot of research for the Kabiyal songs. It would have been a great loss had I decided not to work in this film”.
Rahul who has a cameo in this film shared a funny incident during the shooting of this film. He was aware of the fact that Prasenjit Chatterjee was acting in the film. But one day he found a bearded man in loose fitting clothes talking with Swastika. Even Swastika was replying with a smile on her face. This puzzled him and later he found that the man was none other than Prasenjit Chatterjee.
Prasenjit highlighted on the good rapport that exists between him and Srijit to be one of the reasons behind their success on screen. “It is important to have good relations with the people you work. That chemistry shows on screen. This is my fourth film with Srijit and we are good colleagues as well as great friends”.
Jatishwar will release in over hundred halls in the city and the suburbs. The movie has already got tremendous response from the audience in Mumbai and Delhi and awaits the audience verdict in Bengal.
