Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM is back with the third edition of Mirchi Music Awards 2014 (MMA Bangla) – the prestigious awards show in Bengal that celebrates the best in Bengali music. With the greatest names in the industry on the judges panel and live acts that’ll dazzle you, the leading radio station of the city is back with the third edition of its annual music awards.

Mirchi Music Awards 2014 Bangla is awarding Purna Das Baul the Lifetime Achievement Award and felicitating JeetGanguly for bringing mainstream music to our homes in the last decade. MMA will present awards selecting from more than 3100 Bengali songs judged by 37 judges.
Purna Das Baul has taken the folk music of Bengal and given it a global recognition. He has successfully taken the music from the heart of Bengal to the world stage. JeetGanguly’s contribution is also significant as he almost single-handedly wooed the Bengali music lovers back to mainstream cinema once again making it popular and bringing back its glory days.
The entire process of judging was conducted in secret ballot handled by the renowned audit firm Ernst & Young. Besides the regular awards categories, a category of Listeners’ Choice Awards will be given at the MMA too.
