The Bangla film industry’s tryst with ghosts and spirits continues. The shooting of yet another New Bengali film Bhoot Odbhoot on the paranormal began shooting at Basubari.

The scene which was being shot at Basubari showed Satyanarayan (Paran Bandopadhyay) in conversation with Satyaki about the existence of ghosts. In between the shots, the director duo of this film Anubrata Dutta and Sridip Ghosh shed light on the story and other details of this film. “This is not a complete film on ghosts. This is an advanced take on this subject of the existence or non-existence of ghosts. The film also has shades of psycho-analysis. The audience will get ample doses of ghosts, adventure and psychology in this film” said director Anubrata Dutta.

The story of the film is divided into parts- Bhoot and Odbhoot. In the first half, an elderly gentleman goes with his two granddaughters to an old Rajbari. It is incidents that take place here which compel them to consult a paranormal expert. The second half of the film is about Satyanarayan Chowdhury who used to be a zamindar. He may no longer be a zamindar but he retains the zamindari pride and prestige. He experiences a strange phenomenon. Every night he is haunted by an apparition who threatens to kill him. He thinks it to be an apparition. But when he is slapped by the apparition, he becomes afraid. What happens next is the crux of the story.

Paran Bandopadhyay who plays the role of Satyanarayan in this film said “Tollywood is obsessed with ghosts and I will soon be haunted by a ghost. I have been doing roles in many ghost films like Gosaibaganer Bhoot, Chayamoy, Bhooter Bobhitsot, Odbhut and many more. It is high time I actually get to see a real ghost”. When asked whether he believes in ghosts, the actor said “I see one whenever I look in the mirror”. The film also has Mouboni Sorcar, Rahul, Arijit Dutta, Kalyan Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakraborty in pivotal roles.

The music of this film is by Pritam Kundu. There are four songs in this film and the songs have been sung by Indrani Sen, Pota, Soumitro Roy and others.

The film is expected to release in the month of April-May this year.
