P.C.Chandra Jewellers, the leading jewelry brand in Eastern India organized a pre-launch press preview of the latest showroom of the company in Howrah. Present at the press preview was Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan. She displayed jewelry from both the diamond as well as the gold collection. She also did the pre-launch unveiling of the new showroom. Speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent Priyanka Dutta, the actress spoke about her preference for jewelry and upcoming films. Kolkata according to the actress is one of her favorite cities. This liking she attributes not only to the cuisine, but also to the culture, the people and the jewelry that forms an essential part of this city. “I love experimenting with jewelry. I have a fetish for antique jewelry and statement pieces. I put on jewelry according to the occasion. I have a lot of traditional gold jewelry and side by side I have costume jewelry made from beads and semi-precious stones too. I like the tribal jewelry too” said Soha. Credibility, history, biggest jewelry brand in the North-East, were some of the reasons which the actress said connects her to the P.C.Chandra Jewellers brand. “My family just like the brand has a legacy, a history and it felt right to be associated with this brand” added the pretty actress.
A pair of golden bangles from the wedding collection and a ruby ring from the Diamond collection caught the eyes of the actress. She also liked some of the long necklaces of the Goldlite collection. On the work front, she will be next seen in a film on the 1984 riots. The actress who had worked with late director Rituparno Ghosh said “Antarmahal was a special film for me as I got the chance to work with Rituparno Ghosh who taught me such a lot about acting. I am open to doing Bengali films”. Aparna Sen and Gautam Ghosh features on her list of directors with whom she would like to work with for her next Bengali Film.
