Vikram and Ena come together for the first time as lead pair in Balark Genesis Entertainment Pvt. Ltd’s new Bengali film BRITTO that deals with marital complications.

The film explores the brittle relationships of the modern times and the profound realizations as one searches true love. The story is about Vikram and Ena as they move through the maze of life, each battling their own demons, sometimes coming out winner and sometimes loser. But the results profoundly affect their course of life.

Veteran actors Soumitra Chatterjee and Alokananda Roy along with Joy Sengupta act as catalysts as the movie opens up in layers. A twist in the tale in the climax leaves the audience with certain questions that they have to answer in the isolation of their bedrooms.

“This movie is very different from the others I have done. I play the character of Rony, a happy-go-lucky character. There is a 360 degree transformation in my character by the end of the film. It can also be called a journey through life,” a very exited Vikram said.

Ena was equally upbeat about the role: “I play the role of Mrittika, Rony’s wife. My role has different layers. It is very challenging. I grow as the film progresses and in the end it’s a level of maturity that marks my character.”

A path breaking effort, the movie stands for the commitment of the producers to bring bankable and meaningful movies to Bengali cinema breaking away from the clutter of remakes of movies from down south.

Balark Genesis begins its journey in Tollywood as a production house looking to do meaningful films akin to the golden years of Bengali cinema. It is a startup with a vision to bring entertaining stories to people through honest films.
