It is indeed a new trend which will be starting in the Bangla film industry with the release of the New Kolkata Bengali Movie Picnic. The New Kolkata Bengali Movie Picnic will be released in two versions- one is the Bengali version titled Picnic and the other is the Hindi version named “Chalo Picnic Manayen”. The music launch of this film in both the languages took place at the Golden Park hotel. Present at the music launch were Gautam Sushmit, Raaj Mukherjee, Sambhavana Seth, Sudip Mukherjee, Arnab and others.
“A group of college friends decide to go on a picnic to Vishakhapattanam along with their professor K.D and have loads of fun during the outing. They are then joined by a Bengali couple, Saptarshi and Sujata. When Leena’s name comes up during conversation, everybody becomes angry. It is later revealed that she was their classmate and hated by everybody. Things take a turn when the students and their professor are murdered one by one. The local police track down the murderer. When everything seemed to have been solved, the story takes a u-turn and the actual killer is unmasked” said director Raaj Mukherjee.
The music of this film has been done by Shubhayu. There are eight songs in the Bengali version and five songs in the Hindi version. Shaan, June Banerjee, Arnab, Dola Ganguly, Priya Bhattacharya have lent their voices to the songs. Gautam Sushmit is the lyricist of this film. Bhora Thaak is one Rabindrasangeet which has been used in the film.
Sambhavana Seth looking sexy and seductive in her ultra thin strapped black gown will be seen in an item song in the film. The actress who will be debuting in Bengali films with this song is keen to work in Bengali films in future.
Arjun Chakraborty, Kanchana Mollick, Jay Badlani, Debraj Roy, Sudip Mukherjee, Mainak, Pamela, Aishwarya, Suparna, Disha, Mouu, Kais Kalim are the cast of this film. Sambhavana Seth will be seen in a guest role in this upcoming Bangla film.
The film is slated for release on the 28th of March in both Bengali and Hindi.
