Son of well known muralist Alokemoy Datta and veteran fashion designer Sharbari Datta, Amalin Datta introduced a new fashion trend in the city with his new label titled Amalin.
His debut haute couture creation was showcased by celebrated models Indrani Dasgupta, Satarupa Pyne, Ushoshi Sengupta, Sona Goldar and Pallavi Das at Aqua, The Park Hotel on March 28, 2014. The high end fashion show showcasing Amalin Datta Designs was choreographed and presented by Fashion Guru Prasad Bidappa was had popular Tollywood actress Raima Sen walking the ramp as the showstopper of the evening in an Amalin ensemble.
Amalin’s creations are most appreciated for their contemporary styling and heady mix of art, music and mythology in all that he designs. Amalin takes pride in experimenting with earthy hues and draws his colors and shades from vegetable dyes and all that nature has to offer. He also works in close association with his craftsmen to create designs that have an international appeal.
Right from Zardozi to Aari Taari, all forms of designs are used by Amalin to create his unique designs that capture the beauty of nature in its most subtle forms. Amalin also takes pride in the fact that his products are designed and customized for individual demands and needs and are not mass produced for chain stores.
Along with Raima Sen who was the show stopper of the evening, several other Tollywood celebrities were seen occupying the front rows to cheer and encourage Amalin. Raima who is currently working on several new Bengali Movies like Manoj Michigan’s 89, Mainak Bhowmick’s Kolkata Calling and Hrid Majhare Opposite Tollywood Hero Aabir Chatterjee and Tripod Entertainment’s Bari Tar Bangla Opposite Saswata Chatterjee looked glamorous as ever in an Amalin outfit and post the show happily posed for photographs for the ever so eager shutterbugs.
