New Kolkata Bengali Film Toofan Goes on Floors; Abhishek Chatterjee In Key Role



The Subho Mahuraat of Pronob Karmakar’s New Kolkata Bengali Film Toofan took place recently in the presence of the director and cast members Abhishek Chatterjee and Sumit Ganguly.

“The film is based in a village named Kusumpur. Due to the great efforts of the school master of this village, the boys in this village have not only excelled in studies but also in the field of sports too. They also have no tolerance for wrong deeds. They protest against any such deeds. The boys go to the city. There they meet Major Sahab who helps them. They are given shelter in Major’s home. With Major’s help, they go on to eradicate wrong doers from the society” said director Pronob Karmakar.

Sumit Ganguly plays the role of Jogon. “I play the role of a villain in this film. I beat up the hero in the initial scenes of the film and later on they beat me up and kill me. This is a role which is nothing new for me and I have been playing this role for a long time in this industry”.


Abhishek Chatterjee who plays the role of Major Sahab said “This is an important role. The boys who were fighting against the same person who had killed major’s father. Hence they have a common enemy and he helps the boys in their mission”. Joog Joog Jio is one film for which the actor is waiting eagerly to release.

Abhishek Chatterjee, Sumit Ganguly, Biswajit Chakraborty, Arun Banerjee, Ramen Roy Chowdhury, Santana Basu, Anamika Saha, Subhasish Mukherjee are the actors who will be seen playing important roles in the film.

Priya Chatterjee is the lyricist of this film and the music will be composed by Ashok Bhadra. There are six songs in the film. Subhamita, Jojo and others will be lending their voices to the songs in the film.

The film is expected to release during the Durga Puja.
