Upcoming Kolkata Bengali Film Commonism on Third Gender Rights and Plight



The Mahurat of the upcoming Bengali film Commonism took place recently in the presence of the director, the cast members and the music director. The Bengali Movie which will soon start shooting completed a song recording on the Mahuraat.

“The New Bengali film Commonism is about Chitrangada who is an actress by profession. However she is not a woman completely. She also becomes attached to a painter named Soso. What happens to her when this fact comes out is what the film is all about. Whether Soso can also accept her is also revealed in the course of the film” said director Amitava B Bhattacharya.


“The difficult choice was casting a face as Soso. We always wanted a face which should have the perfect balance between authority and sensitivity. However Rajaditya suits the role well” said the director. Rajaditya Bandapadhyay will be joining the team of Communism within two weeks of coming down from Finland.

Chirantan Banerjee of SAREGAMAPA fame is given the duty of composing the songs for this movie. “This is my first work as a music director and I am very excited. There is also a stress as I need to prove myself with my music. There are four songs in the film. I will be singing two songs in the film” said the music director.


Sankalita Roy will be seen playing the role of Chitrangada in this upcoming Bengali Film. Alivia Sarkar will be playing the role of her journalist friend, Stella.

The shooting of the film will be done in Kolkata, Uttar Banga, Rishop, Lolegaon and Purulia.

The shooting of the film will begin after the 15th of May.
