The music release of the upcoming Bengali film Ramdhanu took place at Ta’aam restaurant in the presence of director duo Nandita Roy-Shiboprasad Mukherjee, Rachana Banerjee, Sriti Lala and Sash Ghoshal.
Ramdhanu is a Bengali Movie which aptly highlights the conflict between best school and best education. The film has three Bengali audio songs. Sasha Ghoshal has sung the only Rabindra Sangeet- “Oi ashon tole matir pore”. The other songs are “We are shining stars, Jhiki miki alo” and “Bits of paper” sung by fifty children from the schools like South point, Nava Nalanda and others. The background music has been designed by Vinit Ranjan Moitra and Rag Anurag band keeping in mind the concept of this New Kolkata Bangla movie.
“While making the music for the film, we kept in mind the fact that the music must gel well with the concept of the film. We are thankful to Sriti Lala and the band Rag Anurag for having composed such great music for the film. Our ideas match on several levels and this is the reason why such great music could be composed for the film” said director Shiboprasad Mukherjee.
Rachana Banerjee plays the role of the kindergarten school teacher in Ramdhanu. In a crushed cotton long skirt and matching kurti, Rachana Banerjee looked pretty. “After watching the film this Friday, people will understand why I chose to do this film. I will not reveal much about my character. All I can say is this film will make you think after you leave the hall. This is not those kinds of films which you forget once you leave the hall” said the actress.
A live performance by Sasha Ghoshal and the kids made the music launch program delightful for the assembled guests and the media personnel.
