The press conference of the upcoming Bollywood film Ek Villain took place in the presence of the lead pair Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor at The Hotel Hindustan International.
“The film is essentially about Guru who a tough and ruthless boy working under a politician named Prahlad. A dark past keeps him restless until he meets Aisha, the girl of his dreams. He asks her to marry him and she agrees. Just when things fall in place, she falls prey to an attack. Guru starts hunting for the culprit. Who is the murderer? What is the motive behind killing Aisha? This is what the film is all about” said Sidharth who plays the role of Guru. “Everybody has a good and bad side to themselves. It depends on them which they give priority to. On 27th June, with the film we celebrate Villaintine’s Day as opposed to Valentine’s Day. We celebrate the villain in each of us” added Sidharth.
The actor when asked about an act of villainy stated how he put the toothbrush of his cousin in the commode and then kept it in the rack as a vendetta against his cousin.
Speaking at the occasion, Shraddha said “It will be great fun for the girls to have such a handsome villain to ogle at when they watch the film. Personally I feel that this will be interesting for the audience as the film will narrate the life of a villain rather than the life of a hero. The Bollywood film has two villains as opposed to a hero and a villain. My character is a girl named Aisha who keeps on talking and cracking jokes. She does not care whether anyone is listening or not to the jokes she cracks and this character is very different from the very intense Aarohi (character of Shraddha in Aashiqui 2)”. Sidharth added “I tried to look rugged and disheveled like a villain. I put on tattoos and colored my hair. But looks like I need to put in more effort the next time I play such a character”.
Shraddha also commented that the biggest villain in her life at the moment is her personal trainer who has been keeping her on a rigorous diet for her upcoming Hindi film ABCD 2 where she plays the role of a dancer. “I am being fed a lot of eggs at the moment as part of my diet and also made to do rigorous cardio exercises to get the look perfect” smiled the pretty actress.
Along with the villain being the central character of this new Hindi film another aspect to look forward to will be that the director Mohit Suri will be working outside the Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt banner.
This very different romantic thriller will be releasing on the 27th of June and we hope that Sidhartha Malhotra having raised the expectation of his fans with his previous films gets good reviews for his performance in this Bollywood movie too.
