Prajna Dutta’s Hindi album “Yaadon Mein” under the banner of Rooh Music was launched recently at Press Club. The album launch saw the presence of Joy Sarkar, Amyt Dutta, Gaurab Chatterjee, Indrajit Dey and Pijush Chakraborty.
“The album has seven songs and the music palette is diverse. This has been done so as to cater to the different musical tastes of the listeners. The six tracks are original compositions while the seventh is a mash up. No particular genre has been confined to in the album. Each song has a life and I am just a medium. Hence the music in each of the songs is different. The lyrics are not very complicated and the audiences will be able to understand it easily” said the singer. The tracks have been done in Hindi so as to cater to a broader audience base.
This album also marks the debut of Prajna Dutta as a singer songwriter. “I am quite excited about this aspect. The songs in the album have a contemporary feel to them. For example, the song Rangeen has a kind of Reggae meets Blues Rock flavor to it. Aasma Se has a country meets contemporary flavor. I have combined world music in the tracks. There is one song written by my mother in Maithali language and is the only non-Hindi track in the film” said Prajna Dutta.
Speaking at the occasion, Gaurab Chatterjee said “This is a great venture of Prajna and it is great that he has come up with such an idea. I hope his music will be well appreciated by the audience”. Amyt Dutta and Joy Sarkar also wished the singer all the best for his future endeavors in the world of music.
Priced affordably at Rupees hundred, the music album will be a good purchase for all music lovers.
