The much awaited finale of the Kitchen Superstar contest took place at Lake Mall. The event was held in association with Big Bazaar. The contest winners were selected by singer Sidhu, Chef Indranil Ghosh and dietician Ronita Ghosh. Koel Mullick and Parambrata Chatterjee also joined in to promote their upcoming Bengali movie Highway and also to crown the winners.
The contest was initially started in all the Big Bazaar stores across Bengal where customers participated by simply filling in a form available at the store. Spontaneous response was received from the contestants all over the city as well as from other parts of Bengal. The winning recipe was judged by the judges on the basis of taste, garnishing and hygiene.
The Great Indian Kitchen Festival which will continue till the 13th of July at Big Bazaar has amazing deals on kitchenware. This year’s theme for the festival was “Upgrade” which could be further divided into five parts- stacking, preparation, cooling, serving and cleaning.
In a white lace top and printed legging, Koel Mullick looked her usual charming self and was the center of attraction at the event. Speaking at the occasion, Koel Mullick said “The smell of the mustard Hilsa brings water in my mouth. I love both Hilsa and lobsters. It is difficult for me to select one and point out my favorite”. When asked about her work experience with Parambrata, the actress said “I have worked before also with Parambrata and we have very good chemistry. We understand our work and that helps a lot during the shooting process”.
“The film is about a couple who gets married out of love. Despite having a love marriage they understand that there is a vacuum in their lives. It is the way that they overcome the vacuum and discover each other again is what the story is all about” said Parambrata Chatterjee.
Rinima Paul was declared the winner while Swapna Halder and Shyamali Saha was the first and second runner up at the contest.
