Upcoming Bengali film “Ei raat tomar amar” is based loosely on the poem by Robert Browning- Porphyria’a Lover. The first look, trailer and the music launch of this upcoming Bengali film took place at JMC Inn. Present at the trailer and music launch were director duo Soummo-Supriyo, Meghna Halder, Gautam Sushmit, Amit Dasgupta and Priyangshu Chatterjee.
“The story is about Nivedita (Meghna) and Arya (Priyangshu Chatterjee). They are childhood lovers and they were in love from the day they understood anything about love and relationships. Arya is a painter by profession and he is obsessed with the beauty of Nivedita. He paints her pictures always. The story is based loosely on Porphyria’s Lover. What happens on that particular night is what the film is all about” said director Supriyo.
The music of the film is very important in carrying forward the narrative, feels music director Amit Dasgupta. “There are six songs in the film. Gautam Sushmit and Nawab Arzoo have penned the lyrics for the songs in the film. Shaan, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Mamata Shama, Gopa Bandopadhyay, Reema Mukherjee and Alka Yagnik have sung the songs in the film. One Rabindra Sangeet Tomar khola Hawa has been used in the film”said Amit Dasgupta.
Priyangshu Chatterjee who is back with a film after a span of more than a year looked handsome in the blue Punjabi that he was wearing at the event. When questioned about the gap, the actor said “Look this is one question for which I do not have an answer. The film makers will be able to tell you why they did not cast me in any more films. The last Bengali film I did was Shunyo Awnko”.
The film is slated for release on the 18th of July.
