Ace elocutionist Suvadeep Chakaborty conceptualized this event which was based entirely on the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda, the great disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhangsha, preached the Vedanta philosophy of his guru in India and abroad. He upheld that truth which is present in every religion. However the paths of reaching the goal are different. Eventually, in 1893, he attended the Parliament of Religion at Chicago where he propounded the true meaning of Hinduism which he described as a universal religion. He proclaimed the essential oneness in religion. He highlighted on the fact that God is omni-present. Therefore to serve mankind is to serve God. He inspired the Indian youth to reform the Indian society towards the Path of progress. To encourage the young generation, he said, ” ARISE, AWAKE AND DON’T STOP TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED”.
Viveker Srote was a composite script containing Tagore songs and poems and also the writings of Swamiji. The debut venture was staged very successfully in Kolkata at G.D.Birla Sabhagar.
