The music launch of the upcoming film Buno Haansh took place at The Oberoi Grand in the presence of the film’s star cast (consisting of Dev, Srabanti, Tanushree, Gargi Roy Chowdhury), director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, music director Shantanu Moitra and a host of other celebrities from the Tollywood film and music fraternity.
Based on the novel written by the eminent Bengali novelist Samaresh Majumdar, the film is the story of Amal who hails from a middle class family and owed to certain circumstances gets drawn into the gritty alleys of the underworld. What happens to Amal and whet were the circumstances that lead him to such hellish life is what the film will reveal.
Gargi Roy Chowdhury plays the role of Adrija in the film. “The day when I was told about this character, I found it to be superbly interesting. It was a big challenge for me and I hope that I have been able to justify myself in the role. Adrija is someone whose name may sound very simple and uncomplicated, but in reality she is one who will charm you with her beauty. She is a sort of femme fatale” said the actress.
“I have listened to all the songs in the film. Shantanu da has again created magic with the songs. After Antaheen, we will be getting the man in a brand new avatar with his music. He has experimented with his music and has come up with such soulful tracks that it is indeed a pleasure to listen to them” said Joy Sarkar.
Looking striking in a long flowing gown, actress Tanushree was full of praises for his co-star Dev whom she described as both funny and highly professional. The actress also revealed that she will be seen in a never before seen avatar by her fans in the upcoming Bengali Film Buno Haansh.
Shantanu Moitra, the man behind the soulful harmonious music of Buno Haansh said “The music is indeed the soul of the film. According to me the songs and the script have blended wonderfully. Papon, Lopamudra, Shreya and Bonnie have done a great job and have helped to transform my songs into such soulful numbers”. The lyrics of the songs in the album have been penned by Srijato.
The songs in the film, according to Lopamudra only add to the narration. The transformation of Amal from the simple middle class guy to a worldly wise man has been aptly portrayed with the songs. While Zindagi Kahin Bhi Thamti Nahin reflects on the very fact that life goes on, the other song Hariye Thikana draws heavily from Bhatiyali music.
Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury whose birthday was on the day of the music launch was visibly excited about the film. “This is my third film with Shantanu Moitra. He had composed the music for my earlier films Antaheen and Aparajita Tumi and we share a great bond of friendship that goes a long way in perfecting the music of our films. The songs have been well received and that is a huge boost” said the director.
Since the music of Buno Haansh has already become so popular and the film’s trailers have also raised a certain level of curiosity amongst fans, we sincerely hope that the Dev fan following in Bengal will be able to give tough competition to Ajay Devgan starrer Singham Returns as both the movies are due for release on August 15, the Indian Independence Day.
