In a bid to connect with the Gen Y customers, The State Bank of India, India’s largest bank, unveiled its digital banking initiative SBI in Touch in Kolkata. The inauguration was done by Tollywood actress Koel Mullick and footballer Baichung Bhutia.
The digital stores will be bringing several unique offerings to the new-age Indian customers. These will include for the first time not only in India but possibly in Asia, instant account opening facilities with a personalized debit card. For the first time SBI introduces Smart ATM with remote concierge to speak to the bank at anytime. This Remote Expert facility is actually a high definition video interaction with the experts working at the bank for all your needs on issues like life insurance, general insurance, Demat account, securities and other such issues. The store in Kolkata is the seventh digital outlet of SBI. The others have been opened in other cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and others.
Koel Mullick said on the occasion “This will be like connecting with your dreams. People hardly have the time now to wait long for opening an account. This will be a good way of being a touch away from the dream. Lovely interiors, great facilities will surely appeal to the Gen Y customers who will be coming to the bank”.
Baichung Bhutia congratulated SBI for the initiative and praised them for thinking way ahead of the other banks. He was also presented with a cheque for his football academy.
This digital store will not only help the customers but also the employees in providing great services in the long run to the Gen Y customers who are the main target customers for this digital initiative.
