Rabindranath Tagore even after so many years of his death is still popular among the masses not only in India but all over the world. His writings and his beliefs have impressed many people in the past and still continues to impress and amaze us. Bhalobashi Bhalobashi, an event conceptualized by Rangan Bandopadhyay recently paid tribute to the Bard. The event was organized in association with Picasso Entertainment, Techno India Group and Patra Bharati.
Satyam Roy Chowdhury’s “Tagore for you”, an e-book was launched at the program. “This will be a unique way of making many people know about the Bard and his contributions to art and literature. With the help of this e-book many people who had no idea about the contributions of Tagore will be enlightened about his work” said Satyam Roy Chowdhury.
Another event which took place at the same venue was the launch of the Rabindrasangeet album “Anekdiner Gaan” by eminent singer Srikanto Acharya. There are eight songs in the music album. The solo album came out after a gap of eleven long years. Several websites and social networking sites are places from where the songs will be readily available for download. This has been done so as to reduce the side effects of piracy which has been causing havoc in the music industry in recent times.
Lastly, the main event consisted of Rituparna Sengupta and Satyam Roy Chowdhury narrating pieces regarding Tagore. Eminent singers like Srabani Sen and Srikanto Acharya sang many popular Rabindrasangeet songs and regaled the audience. The stage for this event had been done by Haru Sarkar, lighting by Uttio Jana and the sound by Symphony.
Bhalobashi Bhalobashi was a grand musical event that the Kolkata Music lovers thoroughly enjoyed.
