International North Italian restaurant “Serafina” Opens doors for Kolkata Foodies



Do you love pasta and pizzas? Then this piece of news will indeed be one that will make you jump with joy. International North Italian Restauant Serafina recently launched their third restaurant in India. The first two were in Mumbai and Bangalore. The third outlet in Kolkata is located at Quest Mall on the 5th floor.

The brand Serafina specializes in North Italian Cuisine primarily. Owners Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato have a special relationship with India which has developed after several visits to the country. Global Kitchens is the partner for this international brand in the city.

Speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana at the occasion, Chef Anand Sarkar said “The people in the city love food. What they have got till now are the South Italian cuisines. The North Italian cuisines are mild in taste, more cheesy, North Italian wines are used and olive oil is used for the cooking purpose. Bengalis have become health conscious and more prone to experimenting food types. They are foodies and will immensely love the food served here”.


Serafina Kolkata offers its authentic Northern Italian fare, from appetizers and salads, to pastas and pizzas, all made with the freshest and choicest of ingredients. Food lovers may start with savory items such as Calamari (Fried with homemade spicy tomato dip), Paglia and Fieno (home-made fettucine with light tomato sauce, basil, parmigiano and cream), Pizza Bianca (baby arugula, shaved parmigiano, fontina and fresh mozarell Serafina’s legend), Pizza Tartufo Nero (robiola cheese, fontina, truffle cheese, truffle oil and sliced black truffle) and Margherita V.I.P (imported Italian mozzarella, tomato and fresh basil).

Popular salads at Serafina include Arugula E Filetto“A Serafina signature” (baby arugula salad with our sliced seared filet mignon and shaved) and Di Sofia (the chef’s Italian version of the classic Caesar). Homemade pastas made from whole wheat, includes Tagliolini con Petti di Pollo (chicken, baby peas, mushrooms and a touch of cream), Chicken Breast Paillard (Organic Chicken breast served with Arugula), Ravioli ai Porcini (fresh porcini mushrooms) and Lasagna al Forno. Delectable entrees include vegetable, carne e pesce (meat and fish) selections, such as Vegetarian Platter; Spaghetti Squash (spaghetti squash with sauteed mixed vegetables, pine nuts and tomato sauce) and Mini Sliders (chicken breasts, swiss cheese, caramelized onion, French fries).


Known for its thin crust pizza, Serafina will be serving over 24 pizza varieties, ranging from the classics, such as Marinara and Margherita, to the very sophisticated, featuring rare ingredients, such as Tartufo Nero.

The restaurant has an extensive wine list, featuring the best selection of highly rated wines from Italy, France, Spain, New Zealand, South Australia, South Africa, Portugal and the US along with the choicest of Champagne and more. Serafina Kolkata also presents an interesting cocktail menu with delectable martinis, margaritas and a wide array of international spirits that are sure to take the entire dining experience up a notch.

Pocket pinch at this restaurant will be Rs.1700 to Rs. 2000 for two people. The restaurant has eighty seats and open from 12noon to 11.30 pm.
