With a fortnight to go for the biggest festival of Bengal, The Sonnet Kolkata announced their grand Puja food plan for their guest and food lovers. The lavish buffet spread will have diverse dishes coming straight from the heart of Bengal, thus imparting an authentic touch to the special puja menu at the hotel. The food festival is themed around Khati Bangali Mahabhoj to enliven the fervor and enthusiasm of the Pujas.
Bengali Food Festival at The Sonnet in Kolkata
The hotel has planned to introduce the culinary delights and present the traditional taste of Bengal. The Rannar Thakur or the conventional chef would not only prepare the food but would also enhance the whole food experience with his cooking expertise and techniques. Live starter is one of the main attractions of the Maha Bhoj at this hotel.
The dishes available on the puja days will vary from one day to the other. Gondhoraj ghol will be the welcome drink for Panchami but on Sasthi, the welcome drink will be aam pora sarbot. The main courses also will vary on the five days of the puja, both in the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian dishes.
The desserts include Chanar jilepi, Shaktigorer lyangcha, Ice-cream and so on. The lyngcha will be bought directly from Shaktigarh so that the customers can get the authentic taste of the sweets. Chefs specializing in Bengali cuisine will also be coming to the hotel in order to make authentic dishes.
A La Carte for two will cost about Rs. 1500 plus taxes while the buffet will cost Rs. 1100 plus taxes per person.
The food festival will start from 29th September and continue till the 5th of October.
