Eminent singer Riddhi Bandyopadhyay released her debut solo Rabindrasangeet album titled “Rabithakurer Gaan”. The music album was brought out on Perennnial Records.
The most interesting element that the album offers for the listeners is the narration by legendary Rabindrasangeet maestro late Suchitra Mitra. Pramita Mullick, Bratati Bandyopadhyay, Agniva Bandyopadhyay, Devojit Bandyopadhyay, Tridib Chatterjee, Debasish Kumar , Kalyani Kazi, Ranjan Bandyopadhyay were present to grace the occasion, at Gallery Gold.
Riddhi said, “I am fortunate that the music label has offered me the venture in which legend like Suchitra Mitra had narrated anecdotes of songs. As she left us, I just stepped into her shoes and brought out the music album. I met her first after I got married with Devojit Bandyopadhyay. I saw her performing live and she invited me at her place. I never dreamt about such a musical prestigious venture which I consider as God’s grace upon me. The narration has been penned by Shovon Som.”
Riddhi did duets with Devojit Dandyopadhyay earlier but this one is her debut solo Tagore song album. Riddi said, “I am not a regular Tagore song artiste as I sing song songs of D.L.Roy, Atul Prasad, Rajanikanta, Puratani and so on. This is for the first time I have tried my luck at Tagore songs.”
Songs like Anandadhara Bohichhe Bhubone, Eki Labonyey Purno Prano, Megh Bolechhe Jabo Jabo, Olo Soi Olo Soi, Pran Bhoriye,Kotha Je Udhao Holo and so on. The music album has ten songs of the Bard.
