Pallavi Chatterjee’s New Music Album Folk Sutra Launched
We all know her as a talented actress, but she is also a talented singer. She is none other than Pallavi Chatterjee. She recently released her second folk music album titled Folk Sutra. The album was launched in the presence of Prasenjit Chatterjee, Bickram Ghosh, Sidhu, Neel Dutta, Debjit Roy and others.
The album consists of six songs. Two songs have been remixed with Indian and Western music instruments. DJ Akash Rohira has done the remixing of the songs. Neel Dutta, Samidh Mukherjee, Sidhu and Debjit Roy are behind the music arrangement of the album. Some of the songs in this album include Sadher lau, laal paharir deshe, Bhalo kore bajao re dotara and others.
“Folk Sutra will lift your mood surely. The songs may be traditional but due to the peppy music arrangement, you will surely love listening to the songs” said Pallavi Chatterjee. Pallavi’s debut album was Poroshmoni, a Rabindrasangeet album which was released in 2012.
Speaking at the occasion Bickram Ghosh said “I have listened to a few songs and I am surprised at how well Pallavi has sung the songs. She should have brought out this album some years before. This album will surely appeal to the listeners”.
Pallavi’s brother, Tolywood hero Prosenjit Chatterjee said on the occasion “My grandfather was the first Vice-Chancellor of Allahabad University. All our family members love music. We have a trend in the family also. Hence Pallavi’s bringing out an album is not a big surprise for me. However this may surprise the audiences who are more accustomed to seeing us all act rather than sing songs”.
The album is priced at Rs. 99 and will be a good addition to the music library at your home.
