Speech Plus, from the house of Bengal Speech and Hearing Pvt Ltd which is one of the most renowned speech and language pathology clinic organized a workshop on Autism and Care Givers. The workshop was addressed by Mr. Somnath Mukherjee, Executive Director, Bengal Speech and Hearing Pvt Ltd. Prosenjit Chatterjee, Raja Chanda and parents of children suffering from autism were present at the workshop.
“The awareness amongst people about this neuro-developmental disorder called Autism is very limited. As a result what happens is, the children do not get proper treatment and they become victims of this disease even more. However due to the keenness shown by Prosenjit Chatterjee, we have been able to associate ourselves with his upcoming movie Force which also deals with Autism. There are films hardly made on this disease. It will be a good eye opener for the parents of children suffering from this ailment” said Mr. Somnath Mukherjee.
Posenjit Chatterjee said “I was not much aware about the various aspects of Autism before I started interacting with the family and caregivers of those affected and I am grateful to the people at Speech Plus for increasing my knowledge on this issue. Many children become affected with this disease but they do not get the right medication and treatment. With the help of this film and the various initiatives of Speech Plus, we hope to bring a change in the lives of these children in future”.
The story of the upcoming Bengali film Force is about an encounter specialist whose only son suffers from Autism. How the father takes up the challenge and overcomes obstacles to make his son a winner is what the film all about.
The event also saw Prosenjit Chatterjee flagging off the Speech Plus- Force Tableau and also launching a new web forum meant for parent of autistic children.
