Another Soliloquy, a collection of poems was recently released in the august presence of director Ashok Vishwanathan, Anjum Katyal and Dr. Kriti Sengupta. The book of poems has been written by software professional Ananya Chatterjee and architect and urban planner Shruti Goswami. The release was followed by a panel discussion which was moderated by Ashok Vishwanathan with the others participating in the discussion.
Another Soliloquy is a collection of verses written by the poets Shruti Goswami and Ananya Chatterjee. “In this book we have addressed a huge variety of subjects. Incidents like boat ride on the Ganges at dusk, the ignominy of a child going to school and other such feelings have been portrayed through the verses. Apart from these experiences, the poems are also about topical issues like child abuse. I have used my verses to portray these issues in my poems too” said Ananya Chatterjee.
Shruti’s poems range from earthy to sarcastic tones. She prefers on being referred to as translator of emotions. However the main theme of her poems is the undercurrent of love. Love in human relationships or love for nature or any other kind of love- this emotion has an important role in her poems. Some poems of the poetess blend human emotions with nature easily, while others speak of the search for inner peace.
