New Zee Bangla serial Tumi Robe Nirobe Launched
Upcoming Zee Bangla serial Tumi Robe Nirobe’s press conference announcing the start of this serial was done at Dasani Studios. Present at the press conference were Arjun Chakraborty, Snehasish Chakraborty, Malay Dey(editor), Bhaswar, Sweta Bhattacharjee, Shuvankar Saha, Anusua Majumdar and others.
The serial is about a group of girls who are all deaf and they belong to a dance group named Taal. Led by Jhil, the group continues to perform at various events despite their physical challenge. Jhil is a courageous and motivated girl and is employed at Yashojit Mukherjee’s office who wishes her to become his daughter-in-law. Jhil meets Sanju, Yashojit’s son and they are married. What happens after that is what the serial will highlight.
Creative director and producer Snehasish Chakrborty said “The story is different as opposed to the Saas-bahu dramas the audience has been subjected to. This is a fresh love story and will surely appeal to the audience. This idea came to me when I was watching a video on Youtube where a group put up a brilliant dance performance and only in the end it was revealed that the group members were deaf. This gave me the idea to make this serial”.
Sweta Bhattacharjee who plays the role of Jhil was visibly excited on being given such a role and she thanked Snehasish Chakraborty repeatedly. “We have been taking classes to learn the sign language from Anusua and Sujata madam. They have been extremely supportive and we all have been trying to learn it properly” said Sweta.
After the serial Aanchal, actor Shuvankar Saha will be seen playing the role of Sanju in the serial. “I have driven a rickshaw in the serial which is a first for me. Sanju is a very simple character whose step mother does not allow him to learn the sign language. As a result he is not as confident as Jhil is” said Shuvankar Saha.
The story, script, lyrics and music composition has also been handled by Snehasish Chakraborty. While commenting about the music he said “Since the individuals speak less, the songs are vocal. No unnecessary background music has been used” added Chakraborty. There are also plans of making Arjun Chakraborty sing “Tumi Robe Nirobe” in the serial.
Dance plays an important role in the serial and hence different dance forms like classical and dandia have been incorporated.
The production controller is Nirmal Ghosh while the makeup is being handled by Md Masud Hasan. Kaushik Sarkar is the art director, while the director of Photography is Debabrata Mallick. Sanjoy Chakraborty and Sudip Roy are handling the programming department. The executive producers are Runa Ghatak, Priyojit Das and Akash Ghosh.
Twenty special children from Hellen Keller Deaf and Dumb School performed on the occasion also.
Produced by Blues, the serial will be aired from 15th December onwards on Zee Bangla from Monday to Saturday at 8.30 pm.
