This year will be no exception as students from all over the world will come to participate in the three daylong events.

“I had been advised by many people not to organize such events in Kolkata. Many people told me that these events were strictly for cities like Mumbai or Delhi. But I opposed them and I started this event in my city. The three daylong debate will help in understanding the various aspects of the media. Media is an important part of our lives and having a clear idea about it is of utmost importance. Moreover not many of us are well aware of the subtle nuances of speaking publicly. The debate will help many to understand this easily” said Dr. Kunal Sarkar.

The inauguration will take place on the 13th of December at the Victoria Memorial Hall. The subject for the first day is a panel discussion on the topic ‘Media clutter has compromised credibility’. For the second day, “objectivity in media is pretence” has been selected as the subject for the international debate at The Calcutta Club. The third day will witness interactive sessions with students. The topics for discussion are Television is dead, long live social media and Justice has been hijacked by the media. The event of the third day will take place at The Heritage Institute.
