Kolkata Anglo Indian Food Festival
Does Caramel Pudding, Cheese croquettes, Fish pantheras bring water to your mouth? Then you must surely head to the city’s fine dining destination Oh! Calcutta, to savor the taste of these Anglo-Indian dishes! The dishes will be made available for the customers as part of their fortnightly Anglo Indian Food Festival.
The Anglo-Indian food festival has also been started as Christmas is near and most people all over the city engage in outings with their friends and families. To cater to this spirit of the people, the festival has been started.
“The Anglo-Indians with their mixed genealogy of Portuguese, French, English forbearers have a definite stand when it comes to taste. Adding spices to the dishes cooked by the French, Portuguese people gives it a distinctive taste. This appeals to the Indian customers too. Steaks, sausages, grilled chicken are there in the menu of this food festival. Shepherd’s Pie which is a popular Anglo-Indian dish has been added to this menu” said Chef Subir Deb.
Some of the dishes which have emerged in the city alone include Entally chicken sausage, Dacres Lane roast chicken, Frithhath mutton curry. Apart from these dishes some of the other dishes which will be made available for the customers include Yellow rice with butter, Bread and butter pudding, Vegetable Tetrazini, Caramel pudding and others.
The dishes which will be getting the maximum likes from the customers will be included in the Oh! Calcutta menu! The restaurant has also checked the response to the Anglo-Indian dishes with the regular customers of the restaurant. The response has been positive so far.
Meal for two will cost about fifteen hundred rupees plus taxes.
In its second year, the organizers of the food festival hope that the turn out of the customers will be as great as it had happened in the past year.
