ETV Bangla Serail Soubhagyabati Launched
ETV Bangla organized an event with Women’s Interlink Foundation to celebrate real life Soubhagyabatis as part of their promotion of their new serial, Soubhagyabati. The event was graced with the presence of designer Agnimitra Paul, Dancer Alokananda Ray, Anindita (who plays the role of Kojagori in Soubhagyabati), Aloka Mitra and four women achievers namely Ruma Sen, Sreelaxmi Shincada, Madhabi Mondal and Shakila Sekh.
The serial Soubhagyabati is about Kojagori who is the daughter-in-law of Baranagar’s Dinesh Ghosh Lane’s Thakurbari. The thirty six year old Kojagori’s only identity is that she is the mother of Aankhi or the wife of Babu. She does not have any separate identity of her own as a result. Married at a young age, she could not even complete her class twelve studies. The fact that she is not very well educated and not from an English medium background increases her distance from her husband Anirban. However fate shines on her when she participates in a reality show. Will this reality show actually change her real life? Will her new life be accepted by her husband? The serial answers all these questions.
Dressed as per the look of the serial actress Anindita said “We only honor those individuals who make a career. But we never even think about those women who actually run the households. They do an equally tough job too. I hope with this serial many home makers will be able to relate to the story and find their inner Soubhagyabati”.
The real life Soubhagyabatis who overcame hurdles to make a name for themselves were awarded with bouquets and awards by the eminent guests present at the occasion.
Alokananda Ray who distributed the prizes to the achievers said “It gives me immense pleasure to come to this event. The stories are awe-inspiring. I can also see some of my students who received awards from me. This is indeed a great event to come to. I am truly privileged”.
The mega serial began from 5th January 2015 and is aired from Monday to Saturday at 6pm on ETV Bangla.
