Padma Vibhushan Amitabh Bachchan Shoots for the Indian National Anthem at Jorasanko Thakurbari

Big B surely loves the city of Kolkata. After completing the shoot of Piku, the actor was in the city again for promotions of Shamitabh, his upcoming film. White kurta pajama and the off white shawl completed the look of the superstar who strolled in Jorasanko Thakurbari on a Saturday afternoon. The person in question is none other than Amitabh Bachchan.

Big B was at the Jorasanko Thakurbari to shoot for the Indian National Anthem. This was actually the idea of the director who wanted to shoot this song at Shantiniketan. But due to time constraints, the song was being shot at Jorasanko Thakurbari, the place where Rabindranath Tagore resided. Amitabh Bachchan was accompanied by director Shoojit Sircar. Big B had earlier visited Kolkata for the shoot of his film Piku which had Deepika Padukone and Irfan Khan in important roles.

Speaking at the occasion, Big B said “I am indeed privileged to have been given the opportunity to sing this song. Though I am not a good singer, this is a great privilege for me. Hope I have done well. Not many people are well aware of the significance of this place outside Kolkata. This tour of Jorasanko Thakurbari is indeed fascinating for me”.

Director R. Balki with whom Big B had already worked in Cheeni Kum and Paa has plans of releasing this song on the eve of Republic Day of India (26th of January).

Shamitabh is slated for release on the 6th of February and has Dhanush, Akshara Hasaan in lead roles.
