“I will not fully reveal why the film has been named Black Coffee but I can say that creative people have a certain connection with black coffee. They sip the coffee and engage in their creative pursuits. I like Black Coffee myself and even the main character in my film too is a lover of the drink” revealed director Atanu Bose. The director was busy filming along with actors Saswata Chatterjee, Badshah Moitra and Koel Dhar who was seen enacting out a scene at a flat located at Tollygunje.
The scene enacted out was that of internationally renowned film director Tirtharaj Ray after coming back from an outdoor shooting finds his wife busy with the house warming ceremony of an earlier brought flat.
“Pralay and Tirtha are two best friends. Parlay may be his assistant at work but at home he can take important decisions for his friend. The character has two shades- a responsible assistant and a supportive friend” said Badshah Moitra who plays the role of Pralay in the film. Shooting for the film as feels Badshah is an enjoyable experience as the director and his co-actors are individuals with whom he had worked beforehand on television.
“When Apu da is in a movie, you do not feel like he is acting. That is what I wanted in my film. I also can vouch for the fact that in our industry now, we hardly have an actor who can match up to his level of acting” added the director when asked why Saswata was selected for the lead role.
Anupam Roy is the music director of this film. Subhamita, Timir and Anupam will be singing the songs in the film.
The film has been shot already in parts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Another outdoor shooting will take place either in Goa or Himachal Pradesh.
