Eminent dancer Alokananda Roy graced the book launch event of Swati Chanda’s novel Drowning Fish. The event took place at South City outlet of Starmark.
Born in Kolkata, Swati Chanda did her graduation from Purdue University. She has taught English Literature for some years in India and in the U.S.A. She also worked for a non-profit organization in the field of education. Her first published book was a collection of short stories for children. She currently resides in Bangalore, where she in engaged in teaching and writing.
The book Drowning Fish is a tale of a woman called Nayantara who runs away from the riot ridden Narayanbari along with her two daughters. She arrives in Calcutta to take refuge. After many years, she decides to head to the USA to start a fresh and independent life. Is she able to do that? Or is she trapped in her desires which are beyond her control?
After the launch of the book, the author engaged in an animated conversation with Alokananda Roy.
The book Drowning Fish is priced at Rs. 399 and is published by Hachette India.
