International Women’s Day Celebrations
On the occasion of International Women’s day 2015, Bajoria Charitable Foundation (BCF) started the first edition of Kutchina Krritika in the presence of Locket Chatterjee, Anindita Sarbadhicari and Mr. Namit Bajoria, Director, Kutchina.
The first edition of Kutchina Krritika is a first of its kind initiative that will be helping women from all walks of life. These women are those who create an impact on the lives of the underprivileged sections of the Indian society. Bajoria Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization which has been known for its brand Kutchina.
In the first edition, the non-profit organization acknowledged the works done by three women who have been fighting for various causes in the society. Manika Sarkar has been working against women trafficking, focusing mainly on child trafficking. The second individual honored was Shahina Javed who has been working towards the empowerment of adolescents and raising their awareness about domestic violence and gender discrimination. The third lady whose work was acknowledged was Tumpa Adhikary. She has been working for the children living in the red light areas.
Speaking at the occasion, Anindita Sarbadhicari said “When I became a single mother, I had no precedent. It was then that the media highly supported me. I want the media to again extend a helping hand to these women who have been doing great work in their respective fields”.
A cheque of rupees fifty thousand rupees was handed over to the three women who had fought so much against the injustices happening against women in society.
With such initiatives being undertaken by the Bajoria Charitable Foundation, we can hope that many women will be getting a helping hand and pursue their fight against injustice happening to them.
