Starmark, in association with Times Music, organized the launch of Sridarshini Chakraborty’s music album Brishtikothon, at its Mani Square outlet. The album was released by the eminent vocalist Haimanti Shukla, who was the Chief Guest along with renowned tabla maestro, Tanmoy Bose.
Sridarshini Chakraborty is the daughter of renowned vocalist Pandit Manas Chakraborty and the granddaughter of the legendary Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty. From a very small age, Sridarshini was exposed to a creative environment which helped her hone her skills in the arts—writing, fine arts and music. Brishtikothon is her first music album, where her love for both music and poetry finds expression in a collection of her own writings and music compositions. This album is like a tribute to her father, who wished that she would, someday, create something rich in both words and music. Sridarshini has also written and published two books of poems.
The album consists of eight compositions consisting of Bristikothon, Batashey brishtir sonda rong, Ekhane okhane, E shohor kake khonje, Golpe pawa ei srabon, Neend neme ashey, Tomader knuchkawaje, and Ashkara.
Produced by Times Music, the album is priced at Rs.149/-
