International group art exhibition of Shantiniketan World Art Circle; Going Global with Art


Shantiniketan World Art Circle Exhibition

The international students of Viswa-Bharati organized an international group art exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of eminent artist Ganesh Haloi at G. C. Laha Centenary Fine Arts Gallery.


Keeping in mind the views of the Bard, Rabindranath Tagore, seventeen students from ten countries organized this exhibition. The main aim of this group art exhibition was to attach with the global artwork scenario with the help of regular exhibitions and practice. The group of students aspires to get their works published in the different mediums of art with the help of sharing of personal views and themes.


The exhibition was the brain child of Sultana Sharmin, Mohammad Monerujaman and Mohammad Sidul Islam.

Efrat Attias (Jerusalem, Israel), Aokawa Chiaki (Japan), Sultana Sharmin (Bangladesh), Leo Fraser (London, England), Meckrajsingh (Mauritius), Lydia Buijs (The Netherlands), Riya Ghosh (India), Tatiana Petrova (Russia), Mika Tennekoon (Colombo, Sri Lanka), Jyotirmoy (India), Atik Piaseu (Thailand) were some of the participating students in this group art exhibition.


Ceramic and mix media, acrylic and pastel on canvas, collage on canvas, woodcut and mixed media, pen drawing on paper, water color, etching were some of the mediums used for the artworks on display at this exhibition.

The students next aim to organize exhibitions in Bangladesh and Thailand.

The exhibition continued till the 21st of March at G. C. Laha Centenary Fine Arts Gallery.
