Kolkata Painter’s Workshop
Actress Monami Ghosh and eminent painter Wasim Kapoo recently visited the 9th painters’ workshop organized by Magma Fincorp. The painters’ workshop is a part of the CSR program of Magma which aims at recognizing the upcoming talents in the city and also promoting their arts. This initiative also has been taken to the national level with such workshops being held in Cochin, Nagpur, Ahemdabad, Pune, Bangalore, Chandigah and Bhubaneswar.
The artists who participated in this painters’ workshop included Anjan Bhattacharya, Swagata Bose, Sarfuddin Ahmed Halder, Tamal kanti Nandi, Suman Dey, Pavat Kumar Manna, Manik Ch Kandar, into Roy Chowdhury, Tanmoy Roy Chowdhury, Iman Dey and Malay Chandan Saha.
Speaking at the occasion, painter Wasim Kapoor said “I am enthralled at the beauty of the paintings. What expressions!! With the passing of each year, the level of painting in the painters’ workshop is increasing. The way the artists are expressing on canvas is mind lowing”.
Actress Monami Ghosh looking pretty in a blue sari was much enthralled with a painting of a young woman. The actress also equally liked a painting of a few birds and a basket.
For the last eight years, this painters’ workshop has been a great source of inspiration for the upcoming young artists of the city. We hope that Magma Fincorp continues to give such support to the artists in the coming days too.
