They acted in Satyajit Ray’s Ghore Baire thirty years ago. The duo of Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta will be again be seen paired up in the upcoming Bengali film Belaseshe-In the Autumn of my life. The trailer of this film was released in the presence of Soumitra Chatterjee, Swatilekha Sengupta, Rituparna Sengupta, Monami Ghosh, Anupam Roy, Nandita Roy, Shiboprasad Mukherjee and many others. This trailer launch event took place at EditFX Studio.
“The story of Belaseshe- In the Autumn of my life is a story of a joint family. Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta play the role of husband and wife in the film. They are the head of the joint family. The story is that of kinship and showcases the ups and downs of life” said director Nandita Roy.
The music of this upcoming Bengali film has been composed by ace musicians Anupam Roy and Anindya Chattopadhyay. The two musicians will be working together for the first time.
“We had the dream of bringing together on screen the pair of Swatilekha di and Soumitra da for a long time. We were in awe of their acting in Ghore Baire. With this film our dream has come true. The film is a tale of a joint family and during the shooting, we all became like a big family. The shooting experience was just awesome” said director Shiboprasad Mukherjee.
The director duo also have high expectations from this soon to release film and they hope like their other films, this too will strike a chord in the hearts of the audience for sure.
Produced by Windows production House and presented by Atanu Ray Chaudhuri, the film Belaseshe- In the Autumn of my life is slated to hit the theatres in the month of May.
