New Bengali Fortnightly Magazine Ajker Sampurna launched; Apollo Hospitals Initiative


Aajker Sampurna Magazine Launched

“We live in strange times- when speaking Bengali which is the mother tongue of Bengalis is considered to be a matter of low self esteem. Taking the initiative to bring out a Bengali magazine during this time is a great initiative and deserves much praise. Apollo Hospitals have really done a great job” said eminent theatre personality Bibhas Chakraborty at the launch of Bengali magazine Ajker Sampurna. Also present at the occasion were Dr. Rupali Basu, President and CEO- Eastern Region, Apollo Hospitals Group, painter Anup Roy, Ramanath Roy, Sukanta Gongopadhyay, makeup artist Aniruddha Chakladhar and others.


Ajker Sampurna is the second magazine of Apollo Hospitals Group. The first magazine was B Positive which was published from Hyderabad. B Positive focused on family and health issues.


The fortnightly magazine will not only highlight on the illness affecting people but also focus on the wellness factors too. “Many diseases that people suffer from in recent times are lifestyle diseases. With this magazine, we will be encompassing subjects that influence life of modern women. Apart from the health quotient, there will be sections on fashion, travel, accessories, films, entertainment, poetry, theatre, fitness and nutrition. Short stories, poems and serial novel will also be a part of this magazine” said Dr Rupali Basu.


Lyricist and musician Srijato is the invited editor of the poetry section of the magazine. The first issue of the magazine contains stories written by Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Sanjib Chattopadhyay, Syd Samsul Haque (Bangladesh), Ramanath Roy and Sukanta Gongopadhyay.

The fortnightly magazine will be available at the stands on the first and fifteenth of every month. The magazine has been priced at Rs.30.
