Ms. Maureen Forrest, Founder & Honorary Director, THF, Jenny Browne Overseas Director, and Annmarie Murray, Assistant Overseas Director also blessed the occasion.
Bouquets of flowers were presented to all the dignitaries and guests, followed by a cultural dance performed by the Panditya girls. The dignitaries cheered and encouraged the girls in their performances.
Lastly, Mrs. Geeta Venkatadakrishnan, Director, Hope Kolkata Foundation, explained the overall aspects of inception, design and execution of the project for the new home. “In spite of very positive responses received from every corner, there still exists a significant shortfall in the funds available. This is a barrier towards realizing the cherished goal of providing a good quality of life for all the unfortunate children in Kolkata who have to live on the streets and slums” said the Director.
Ashar Alo is therefore a great place for the unfortunate children and will provide them with a home and scope to better education.
