Rabindrasangeet on Violin by Pandit Debojyoti Mishra
In the august presence of eminent violin player Dr. L. Subramaniam, film maker Gautam Ghose, Rupak Saha (Shyam Sundar Co Jewelers), Tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh, Pandit. Debojyoti Mishra’s Tagore on Strings was unveiled.
Tagore on Strings is a great album consisting of eight songs of Tagore played on the violin by Pandit Debojyoti Mishra. The songs include Aguner Parashmoni, Akash Bhora, Amar praner manush, Momo chitte, O amar desher mati, Pran chay chokkhu na chay, Prano bhoriye and Tomar khola hawa.
“With this album I have returned back to my boyhood friend- the violin. I started playing the violin from the age of nine. My father was the first person to teach me the subtle nuances of playing the violin” said Pandit Debojyoti Mishra.
Dr. L. Subamaniam (who has much inspired Pandit Debojyoti Mishra and Bickram Ghosh in their pursuit of music) congratulated Debojyoti Mishra on his album. “Debojyoti being a Bengali has much knowledge about the songs of Tagore. His rendition of the songs with the help of violin will be interesting. I am looking forward to listening to the album”.
The music launch event also saw the presence of many celebrities like Jaya Seal Ghosh, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Mainak Nag Chowdhury, Sidhu (Cactus), Rupam Islam and others.
Released by Times Music, the album is priced at Rs 175 and is available at leading music stores and also at the various online stores too.
