New Book The Heat and Dust Project
In a unique initiative undertaken by National Award winning film maker Srijit Mukherji, the book launch of Devapriya Roy and Saurav Jha’s book “The Heat and Dust Project” took place at Starmark, South City Mall.
The book launch was done via Skype as the director could not be physically present. Srijit Mukherji met with an accident in Delhi and was admitted in a hospital there. When the writers approached him, he graciously agreed to do the launch in a new and unique manner, with the help of Skype.
The book “The Heat and Dust project” is the tale of exploring India by the writer duo Devapriya Roy and Saurav Jha. They leave behind a comfortable life to begin a transformational journey across the country. The budget that they allot daily for themselves is five hundred rupees. The couple had travelled on cheap rickety buses, encountered rooms taken on per hour basis and many other such mind blowing experiences.
Speaking at the occasion, Devapriya Roy said “This was a supreme test of marriage. I craved for eating cakes despite being on such a tight financial schedule. And Saurav wanted me to have fuller meals, mainly the thali meals. That would cost less and also have good portions. At the end he won but the craving continued throughout the journey”.
Srijit Mukherji who had read the first chapter of the book recommended the book to everyone as he found it to be very Indian at heart.
The book is readily available at the book stores and also at the online stores. Grab your copy now!!
