The music launch of upcoming Bengali film Boudi.com took place recently in the august presence of the cast and crew of the film.
Directed by Raaj Mukherjee, the film is the adaptation of a famous stage play by Late Sailesh Guha Neogi named Boudir Biye. “The film is about five brothers. The elder brother initially refused to get married due to his commitment towards his other young brothers. They selected girls suiting their nature. The brother who liked to wrestle found a girl who wrestled, the brother who sang found a singer and likewise. But the elder brother announced one day that he is married. This breaks the other brother’s hearts. How the elder brother’s wife wins over their hearts is what the film all about” said director Raaj Mukherjee.
Music of the film has been composed by Subhayu. There are six songs in the film. A Rabindrasangeet “Alo amar Alo” sung by Irene Sarkar has been used in the film.
Speaking about his choice of actors, the director added “Rachana was the choice for the elder brother’s wife because I wanted an actress who had a good screen presence and with whom the audiences could relate to the idea of Boudi. As far as Saswata is concerned, he is one actor whose name came to my mind the moment I thought of making this film. He is the best one can get for the role”.
The film stars Samrat Mukherjee, Mainak Banerjee, Kanchan Mullick, Sumit Samadder, Partha Sarathi, Joy Badlani, Malobika Banerjee in key roles.
Produced by AVA Film Productions Pvt Ltd the film is slated for release on the 26th of June.
