Eminent painter Ramananda Bandopadhyay turns singer with Bengali Audio Music Album Surer Anubhab

New Bengai audio music album Surer Anubhab launched

For most of us he is an eminent painter and the torch bearer of the revitalist movement begun by Abanindranath Tagore and Nandalal Bose. He is no one other than Ramananda Bandopadhyay. The man who turned eighty recently added another feather to his cap by turning a singer. His first album of songs titled Surer Anubhab was released by Soumitra Chatterjee.

Ramananda Bandopadhyay who passed out from Viswa Bharati was trained by Santideb Ghosh. The atmosphere in Shantiniketan had much influence on the painter who turned to singing at the age of eighty. His days at Kala Bhavan also instilled in him the desires of painting and singing.

“I sing songs to her daily. This has become a habit for me for the last five years. Whatever I write or draw, I show it to her in the morning” said the ace painter.

He also added that Biswa Roy, the proprietor of Bhavna Records egged him on to bring out this music album.

The album has a sketch by the ace painter for each song and also his wife’s illustration of Notir Puja on the cover.

Make sure you grab a copy of this music album. A collector’s item for sure!!
