Bengali Comedy Fim Mon Churi Song Recording

“Bolo bolo bolo sobe..Sopoth bolo sorobe

Dos mohavidyalaya r sunaam rakhibo bhobe

Rajajani, Khepmari, jottochuri..”

Music director Raja Narayan Deb, Biswanath Basu, Saswata Chatterjee and Sumit Samaddar were found singing this song for the upcoming Bengali film Mon Churi at a recording studio in South Kolkata. The song was the oath taking song for the University of Thieves where the characters Gonesh, Kartik and Safailal used to study before they became ace thieves.

In between the song recording, Saswata Chatterjee said “This is actually my second attempt at singing a song for a Bengali film. I had sung before in Aschorjo Prodeep. I am singing less and just reciting more. I had to go for multiple retakes to actually sing the lines well. God knows how the audience will react to my singing”.

Director Premasish Dey’s story Mon Churi is about two burglars Gonesh and Kartik. They are brilliant students of the University of Thieves. However they do not know the art of stealing hearts. It is in their pursuit of stealing hearts that they undergo a change.

The film has two songs and the lyrics of the songs have been penned down by Sumit Samaddar who plays the role of Safailal in the film. “I am doing a role in the film and hence it was quite easy for me to pen down the song. I had already sung the title track of Bhooter Bobhitshot and I am having quite fun singing another song now”.

Produced by Eastern Entertainment, the film starts Kharaj Mukherjee, Konineeca Banerjee, Daminee Benny Basu, Paran Bandopadhyay in important roles.
