2015 is the fiftieth year of the introduction of the iconic detective Feluda. A master creation by Satyajit Ray, the myriad adventures of the detective has also been made into numerous films. Radio Mirchi celebrated this event by organizing an event titled Mirchi Feluda 50.
The landmark Mirchi show “Sunday Suspense” celebrated with 8 Feluda stories on air together with the screening of 7 Feluda movies at Priya Cinema from 31st July to 6th August.
Some of the films sceened include Gorosthane Sabdhan (1st August’2015), Tintorettor Jishu (2nd August’2015), Badshahi Angti (3rd August’2015), Royal Bengal Rahasya (4th August’2015), Kaiashe Kelenkari (5th August’2015) and finally closing the ceremony with Joy Baba Felunath on 6th August 2015.
The screening was made special with the help of an exhibition of exclusive photographs, courtesy the Satyajit Ray Society, shot by Sandip Ray himself during the shooting of the film, along with a display of sketches and illustrations by Ray.
”It’s been an amazing feeling to witness ‘Sonar Kella’ and ‘Joy Baba Felunath’ on the big screen! A mind blowing experience” said Abir Chatterjee who now is portraying the iconic sleuth on silver screen.
Ridhima Ghosh, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Mir, Nusrat Jahan, Joy Sarkar, Gaurav Chakraborty and many others were found on the final day of this week long celebration.
